I have been in classes with Sabine Wilms over the last year. The classes are extremely informative about the structure of Classical Chinese language as a way to get to meaning. The group was varied in experience and skills with some people reading and speaking modern Chinese and others being grammar nerds or just interested in understanding more. Dr. Wilms assisted us so that we were learning and supporting each other and having fun. So work was interspersed with laughter.

Dr. Wilms is patient, very knowledgeable and great at explaining some twisting path. I have read from these early texts but have not known the structure of the grammar. These texts are dense in characters and so it is difficult to decipher the meaning and not be led astray. She is working with the Chinese Medicine community as she wants more of us to have access to these texts with some degree of proficiency. The class really upped my understanding of medical and other early texts and thus makes the great knowledge there more accessible. And that makes my understanding the concepts in Chinese medicine so much richer. I am very grateful for her teaching.
