(This is an actual homework submitted by Shane that I am so grateful to have his permission to share with you. Isn’t it gorgeous? It’s part of assignment package for the last lesson of the Triple Crown Foundations course: Writing out the Chinese source text that we cover in that lesson. As you may guess even if you cannot read his beautiful calligraphy, it covers one of my favorite stories, Zhuangzi’s dream of being a butterfly.)

I’ve spent the last 14 weeks studying Classical Chinese with Sabine Wilms and I can’t recommend it enough. Anyone with an interest in Chinese medicine, culture or philosophy would find this course invaluable. I had previously studied Classical Chinese at an undergraduate level for a year, but have to admit my short time studying with Sabine has given me a much better understanding of the language and more confidence in my translations.
