Studying with Sabine and learning to read and translate classical Chinese has transformed my understanding and practice of Chinese medicine.

When I first met Sabine I could barely read a single Chinese character.

By the end of the first 13-week course I could read basic passages from Confucius, Lao Zi, Zhuang Zi and more.

After just 6-months I was actively reading and working on Gynecology and Fertility texts from the 4th to 13th century CE - under the continued guidance of Sabine.

Sabine is a true expert in the field of Classical Chinese texts and history, and this is clearly apparent when working with her.

She has decades of experience, and has a knack of instantly knowing the position or angle of the text and exactly what is being discussed - regardless of its level of complexity.

Being able to read and translate the Classics properly is vital to protect and share this ancient knowledge for the health of humanity, and our earth.

Every time I read and translate a classical text I expand my own understanding and practice of Chinese medicine many times over.

For most of my career (more than 23 years of clinical fertility and gynaecology practice) I have longed to be able to read the original sources of our medicine, and now I’m finally beginning to.

It isn’t always easy, but with ongoing determination, courses, and support from Sabine it’s all starting to open up and make sense - and it’s so much fun!
